Dear Diary,
I have a lot of money uncertainty. I'm not terrible with money, I get by and sometimes am all right.
But most of the time I'm unsure of how my money is doing. Unease follows my everyday
Am I in a secure position? 🤔
Do I have enough this month? 🥴
Each day I go on business as usual, while always holding my breath.
Holding my breath to see if my checking account is overdrawn the next time I log on 🥵
Holding my breath to find out if I will have to scramble to make ends meet this month 🤕
It doesn’t happen often but when it does, it’s like a tornado swept through. It takes weeks, sometimes months, to recover.
I know this isn’t sustainable but have no idea where to start.
I heard of the Abundance Clubhouse that helps people get comfortable with money.
My choices were:
A - give this experience a shot
B - go on as I have for many years
I signed-up and the prospect of just a little bit more certainty in my life makes my smile.
I looked forward to the experience all week and the day was finally here. I had had that pit in my stomach you have before going to that party you’ve been looking forward to all month.
“What if…” the familiar Unease begins to whisper. I have been walking through life with Unease for so long that it’s become comfortable.
I knew I had enough and said “That’s right, what if? What if things weren’t so scary? What if I could breathe just a little?” and headed to the experience.
Yesterday was the day, my first Abundance Clubhouse meeting.
I walked up to a tent in the middle of a field, following the instructions given to me for joining the experience.
As I walked into the tent, an immediate sense of warmth filled me.
I knew I have never been here before but I couldn't shake the feeling that I was with old friends here.
The experience began and slowly everyone started to share and ask questions.
I caught myself thinking “I’m not alone. There are others like me out there!”
Before I realized, I began to share my experience with Unease. Things I was worried to tell people I had known for ages.
I began to feel lighter the more she shares and empowered that she’s got this!
In this tent, time seems to stay still. When it’s time to head home, it feels like we just got there.
As I headed back, that warm feeling stays with me. Going to sleep felt easier that night.
I can’t wait for next time!
